Being A Black Man In America…My Raw Divine Truth
When you see the title of this article, with everything going on in the world, you prepare yourself for the worst.
You brace for the impact that is the struggle of a man of color in America.
Let me stop you right there. That is not how this article is going to go by any stretch.
You see, I, Shaun Robert Grant, 38 years old, born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana am a black man in America.
My life has been riddled with challenges, yet the overriding theme in everything is that
I always believed I was always strong enough to not only overcome, but thrive through powerful adversity.
At times when I was the most afraid, faith would always prevail. You could look at my life right now and by mere perception, conclude that I couldn’t relate to George Floyd, Mike Brown, Travon Martin or any other black man in America. But I’d like to take you down memory lane.
