Over the last couple of years in the entertainment industry, a lot has come out about unprofessionalism.

I feel the most heartbreaking aspect is believing that someone has to put up with it.

Now, I’m not saying the occasional minor detail or miscommunication that can occur, but more about unprofessionalism that can affect people for long periods of time, or more importantly impact their work.

When I started being an actor, I fell into the same trap of believing that I didn’t want to piss anyone off because I still wanted to have a job. But there is something truly demoralizing to your well being when something like that happens.

You diminish your self esteem and self worth and you betray yourself for not doing what inherently and intuitively feels right to you.

The sad thing is that after betraying ourselves so many times, it becomes difficult to even trust ourselves, and that becomes a big problem.

In all honesty, this can be prevented and should be prevented at all costs. As an actor or actress, if none of your teachers or coaches have told you yet, I’m going to set the record straight right now.
