My Story Of Hurricane Milton: Enduring One Of The Biggest Storms Of My Life Through Grace.
When I moved to the Tampa area from Fort Lauderdale, I have to be honest with you. There was never a thought in my mind where I would encounter a hurricane as powerful and destructive as Milton.
To put things in perspective for you, the town I was moving to was the furthest area from a flood zone. Here are some of the characteristics:
- 111 ft above sea level
- 15 miles inland
- A huge water drainage system
- No history of any big hurricanes.
- Built on farmland
It never crossed my mind one time until Wednesday October 9, 2024. Boy was I getting ready to experience the greatest shock of my life.
Back in 2005, I was located in my hometown of New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina struck and flooded the city completely destroying everything in its path, and still to this day, leaving parts of the city in the same condition it was left 19 years ago.
Hurricane Katrina not only broke people’s spirits, it destroyed them. I was only 24 years old and i lost all of my possessions, some absolutely irreplaceable.
